Life Changes after Brain Injury: Structure, Function, Participation

 

32nd Annual Brain Impairment Conference
Citigate Central, Sydney, 7-9 May 2009

 

The Scientific committee is calling for submissions on topics related to the above conference theme, however submissions concerning any other aspect of brain impairment will be considered. Abstracts can include empirical research (group and single case studies), topic reviews, clinical issues and initiatives. The material presented must have scientific merit to be accepted.

 

All papers will be independently reviewed by the scientific committee prior to acceptance. Conference presentations will be either in the form of a platform presentation (15 minutes with 5 minutes for questions) or a poster. Prospective presenters are invited to indicate their preferred presentation format, although the final decision will be made by the scientific committee. Successful abstracts will be published in the society's journal Brain Impairment. As there will be student awards for best paper and poster, please indicate on the abstract submission form your student status if relevant.

 

Submissions must be formatted according to the following guidelines:

 
  • Abstracts to be in Times New Roman, Font size 12, maximum 250 words.

  • Abstract should be structured as follows: Discipline, Title, Author(s), Affiliations, Abstract, Format preference (Platform or Poster), and status of first author (if PhD or Masters Student).

  • The abstract should consist of:
    • Title of paper;
    • Authors - all authors' first names should be included in full;
    • Affiliations should be listed (and double-checked) for all authors;
    • Title, authors and affiliations should be printed in ALL CAPS on separate lines;
    • All abbreviations should be written in full the first time;
    • Abstracts should be structured in a logical and coherent manner;
    • Abstracts reporting empirical research should include Introduction, Methods, Results and Discussion.
  • Abstracts can be submitted via email to Margaret Eagers at ndarc21@unsw.edu.au. File should be in Microsoft Word and the file title should include the first 5 letters of the surname of the first author follow by an underscore and the first initial (e.g., ANDER_J.doc).
